About Me

I'm Reita, a systems thinker, researcher, and digital tinkerer who lives at the beautiful intersection of AI, education, and increasingly, robotics. My background is in Computing, though I'm constantly learning and expanding into new territories, both technical and business-focused.

I'm fascinated by how autonomous systems learn, how humans learn, and all the messy, beautiful complexity where those worlds collide. Currently exploring graduate studies and trying to understand the business realities behind technical innovation.

In January 2025, I began a self-directed learning project that has produced 212 certificates in AI, ethics, business, and education. This approach suits my needs as a deaf academic: Flexible, text-based, and driven by curiosity rather than rigid schedules. It has been challenging yet rewarding, revealing how AI tools can support independent study while exposing gaps in accessibility for users like me.

My focus is AI and machine learning integration in education, with an emphasis on ethical design. I work with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems to create tools that prioritize inclusion, such as captioning for lectures or adaptive interfaces for neurodivergent learners. I have developed 15 responsive websites that meet WCAG standards, ensuring they function across devices and abilities.

Since 2023, I have served on a University's EDI panel, contributing to access plans, AI ethics guidelines, and inclusion policies. As a peer mentor, I support students in remote tech teams, drawing on principles of universal design and emotional intelligence. These roles inform my consulting practice, where I address real-world barriers in EdTech.

Through this site, I share field notes on AI applications in education, computer vision, and study strategies. My goal is practical impact: Helping institutions and individuals build systems that work for everyone, informed by my experiences at the intersections of disability and academia.
